Do you find it hard to give away a card you spent hours making? Most of your time is spent picking out paper and embellishments and figuring out how to place them. Once I put a card together I make a duplicate of that card right then. I can have a duplicate card in just a few minutes.

I like to make file card inserts for my cards so that the people I give them to can re-gift them. To do this cut a file card or a plain piece of card stock to fit. You can leave it plain or you can add a little ink stain on the edges to match your card.

Cut a scrap of paper 3” long x 1” wide. Punch a hole in the corner and put it on a ring. That way you can have all your paper samples to take with you to the store. I also arrange the paper on the rings in the same order that they are filed in my paper case. See Card Making Paper.

Dip a small paintbrush in water and paint a line on the paper where you want to tear, pull the paper apart with your hands to make a feathered edge.

Take Pictures

Always take pictures of your cards. Then if you didn't make a duplicate of your card you will have a picture of it so you can make it again. I gave away about a hundred cards before I thought to take pictures of them.
